What is a house clearance?
A house clearance is the process of removing unwanted items, furniture, and belongings from a property, often in preparation for sale, rental, renovation, or to declutter.
Why would I need a house clearance service?
Common reasons include moving house, clearing out after a bereavement, downsizing, decluttering, or preparing a property for sale or rental.
What items can be cleared?
We can clear everything, including furniture, appliances, clothing, electronics, books, and general household items. In most circumstances it is appropriate to leave curtains and carpets, but these can be removed if requested
How does the house clearance process work?
The process starts with an initial consultation. We will visit your property, provide a list of items suitable for auction, and a list of items for disposal. We will provide estimates for the clearance costs and the value of the saleable items.
How long does a house clearance take?
It depends on the size of the property and the volume of items to be cleared. A single-room clearance might take a few hours, while a full house could require a full day or more.
Do I need to be present during the clearance?
Your presence isn’t required, and if the clearance is for a deceased love one, you may find it better not to present when the house is cleared. However, if you would rather be present through the whole process, that is absolutely fine with us.
How much does a house clearance cost?
Costs vary based on the size of the property, the volume of items, and the complexity of removal. It’s best for us to visit the property to advise. No two clearances are the same.
Do you charge for a quote or consultation?
We provide a free, no-obligation quote estimate as to the value of the items, and the cost of the clearance.
What happens to the items you remove?
We sell what we can at auction and offset this against the cost of the clearance. Items that cannot be sold, or donated to charity are disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner via Registered waste Transfer facilities.
How do you handle waste disposal?
